Why become a weekday washer?

Weekends should be a time for seeing your mates, catching up on rest, and doing more of the stuff you actually enjoy – not for tackling your laundry basket.

Weekends should be a time for seeing your mates, catching up on rest, and doing more of the stuff you actually enjoy – not for tackling your laundry basket.

But time off your studies often means more time to wash and dry your stuff, which is why we often hear from students about longer waits for machines in our laundry rooms on Saturdays and Sundays.

So, here’s why it could just be time to make the switch to weekday washing.

Avoid the weekend warriors

All our data tells us that our laundry facilities are far less busy on weekdays, especially between 9am and 5pm. So, if you’ve got a gap between lectures, seminars or an episode of your favourite show, it could be the perfect window to get things washed and dried, and off your floor.

Make more time for yourself
Spreading your chores across the week will help you better balance life admin and fun, and stop you having to cram all your tasks into one hectic weekend. You’ll be freer than ever to rest, catch up with mates, and still squeeze in some last-minute studying.

Create a healthier routine
Regularly doing your laundry mid-week will help you create a more consistent routine, which should also help with time management, give that all-important self-discipline a boost, and add a little more structure to your day-to-day.

Stress less
Taking on your chores earlier in the week will reduce your mental load, removing some of the stress or overwhelm that can so easily build up when you accidentally leave everything till the weekend.

Keep a cleaner wardrobe
Mountain of clothes by your bed? We’ve all been there… But it doesn’t have to be this way. Actually, doing your washing during the week means you’re far more likely to have your favourite clothes clean and available for unexpected nights out, presentations, or weekend fun.

Ready to join the weekday washing club? Don’t forget, we’ve got handy how-to guides on hand to make sure you’re in and out of there in no time.
